Theme: LGBTQ+ Latter-day Saints - The Pioneers of Our Day

Allison Davton lives in Salt Lake with her husband Kenn. They have 3 adult children and their family is expanding.

Allison grew up in an Ids LGBTQ+ family, as her oldest brother, Preston, is gay. Back in the 70s and 80s, her parents tried their best to be an openly LGBTQ+ family in the church, but neither they nor Preston felt supported. In 2017, Preston died by suicide.

At this time, Allison's son was starting his own process of coming out. Preston's painful life was a gift to Allison. Through the good and the bad, the sad and the joyful, she learned what she needed to know to raise a healthy gay son.

Because of this journey and the blessings Allison has experienced because of her LGBTQ child, she dedicates her time and talents helping other LGBTQ+ families, wards, and leaders support these most precious children of our Heavenly Parents.

Allison is the Founder of Lift&Love and an organizer of the Gather Conference, which is hosting its first annual event this September in Utah.
